Calculations for Curtains and Upholstery

How do I work out how much fabric I need?

Discover our fabric measurement guide to work out how much fabric you will need for curtains. If you are not creating the curtains yourself, we recommend asking the person who is making them for you. This way they can account for their working methods.

We have a rough guide of how much upholstery fabric you should need to give you an idea but please note this is a very rough guide and does not take the pattern repeat of the fabric into consideration.

Curtain Make Up or Upholstery Servicce

Do you make up curtains?

Yes, we do make up curtains and roman blinds. You can order our made to measure curtains directly on our website or please contact us for further information.

Delivery Questioins

Which courier service do you use?

For all customers, dependent on the size of your order, your fabric will either be sent with Royal Mail or our courier, DX.

Will my fabric be on a roll or folded?

Whether the fabric is sent on a roll or folded will depend on the fabric itself and the size of the order. Generally, smaller orders tend to be folded, whereas larger orders of fabric will be on a roll. Please note we will always roll velvet, blackout lining and leatherette as these cannot be folded due to creasing.

Will I need to sign for my parcel?

Yes, the courier will ask for a signature upon delivery so please ensure somebody will be in at the address you are sending the fabric to.

What happens if I miss the courier?

If you are not in when the courier comes they will leave a card with instructions for you to follow. If you do not respond to this card within 5 working days, the parcel is often sent back to us and charges can occur so please contact the courier as soon as you receive the card. If you think you have missed the courier and have not received a card please don't hesitate to contact us.

How do I track my order?

If your fabric is sent on a trackable service, we will send the tracking number to the email address you provide at time of ordering and you will be able to track your purchase with the courier.

If you ordered a small amount of fabric, this will be sent with Royal Mail and will not have a tracking number, however it will be on a signed for service.

Discount Questions

Do you offer a discount over a certain amount of metres?

If you feel you are ordering a particularly large amount and would like to talk to somebody about a discount we don't currently offer please fill out our contact form.

Do you offer a trade discount?

We do not offer a trade discount as we purchase all our products in bulk
therefore pass these savings directly onto all of our customers.

Fabric Information Questions

How can I find out the composition of a fabric?

If we can provide a detailed breakdown of the composition we will have put it in the description of the fabric. If you require more detail about the composition of a fabric than what is on the description then please fill out our contact form.

Are all your fabrics fire retardant?

Not all our fabrics are retardant. We will specify on each fabric description whether or not a fabric is fire retardant.

What if I need it to be fire retardant?

We can treat your fabric for you for domestic and commercial use. This can take a minimum of 14 days and there is a minimum quantity of 5 metres that can be treated.

If you would like us to provide a quote to have this treatment applied to your fabric please email our customer service team on our contact form.

Alternatively, on certain fabrics, you can use a fire retardant barrier cloth which goes between your fabric and furniture.

Returns Questions

Can I return a fabric, if so, how?

Once a piece of fabric has been cut specifically for you, it can not be returned unless faulty. We strongly encourage customers to request a fabric sample before ordering as different devices can show colours differently. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Sample Questions

Can I request fabric samples?

Yes, you can request as many samples as you require. If you would like to do this, please use our sample order system on the website. Each sample is charged at a minimal fee with free postage. We aim to dispatch our samples on the next working day from order.

Can I request samples of roll ends?

Unfortunately we cannot offer samples of our fabric roll ends.

Alternatively, as a lot of our roll ends are from top end fabric designers, you may find local fabric shops to have fabric books or hangers where you can see the fabric in real life.

Shipping Questions

How long will my order take to arrive?

We aim to despatch all orders placed on the next working (excluding weekends). Once shipped, UK orders generally take 1-3 days to arrive. Overseas orders take 2-14 days depending on location.

If you do require an order quicker we may be able to ship on the date of ordering before 2 pm. Please call our customer service team on 01604 875062.

Do you ship everywhere in the world?

We ship to the majority of countries in the world. Unfortunately due to past problems, we no longer ship to these countries; Russia, Bulgaria, Latvia, countries in South America and countries in Africa.

Can I check the stock of a fabric before ordering?

Yes, on each individual fabric we will display the amount we have in stock on the right hand side of the page. If we are showing less stock than you require please fill out our contact form as we may have more than we are showing online.

I ordered a fabric sample but now can't find the fabric on your website. What shall I do?

If the fabric is not on our website it means we do not have it in stock. Please fill out our contact form to see if we are able to get more in stock.

Can you get more of a certain fabric in stock?

Many of our fabrics are one off pieces that we cannot get more stock of. We have a number of regular fabrics which we can always get more of so please fill out our contact form if you are interested in more fabric then we are showing stock of a particular fabric.

The fabric description page will show if it is a Repeatable Fabric or a Discontinued Fabric.

Can I reserve fabric whilst I wait for a sample?

If you would like to speak to someone about reserving a particular fabric please fill out our contact form.
