Deliveries & Returns

We are a stockist of fabrics, meaning everything you see on our website is held in stock and ready to be cut and sent straight to you, or your upholsterer, or curtain maker.  We endeavour to despatch all orders the following working day to an order being placed.   Listed below is information regarding our shipping methods, times and prices.   If you have any queries or concerns please do not hesitate to email us or give our friendly customer service team a call and they will be happy to help with any query regarding the delivery or return of your fabrics and supplies.  We have many years experience sending fabric rolls and are consistently looking for the best shipping rates and services to send parcels to our customers.  As the majority of the parcels we send are over 1.2 metres in length, we are charged a higher delivery rate by the couriers.  We try our best to keep our prices compeitive and where possible send parcels via Royal Mail to reduce shipping costs for customers.  To protect both you and us from the fraudulent fraud use of credit and debit cards we reserve the right to check the validity of the payment card used and deliver to the official billing address.

Mainland UK (not including the Highlands) 

Delivery Timscales - 1-2 working days after ordering (never 100% guaranteed and delays with the courier are out of our control, eg: weather or breakdowns).  If you are in a rush for your fabric or supplies, please give us a call and we can see if it is possible to speed up the shipment of your order. 

Delivery Service - All orders are sent on signed for services so we recommend sending to somewhere there will be someone to sign for it.  Orders under 2 kilos that can be folded will be sent on a signed for First Class service with Royal Mail.  If there is nobody in to sign for it when they attempt delivery, they will try neighbours or it will be taken to your local post depot for collection. They will put a card throuhg the door to adivse of this.  All orders over 2 kilos or that cant be folded will be sent with UPS on a signed for service.  If there is nobody in to sign for it when they attempt delivery, they will try neighbours, attempt delivery the next two working days or will take it to a local access point for collection. They will put a card throuhg the door to adivse of this.  If you are unable to collect it from the local access point then please call our customer service team and we can re arrange delivery.   You will receive an email confirmation when we despatch your order so you are able to track the delivery and its progress. 

Highlands & Islands

International Customers

Orders under 2 kilos will be sent by Royal Mail and deliveries can take approx 1 week to Europe and 1-2 weeks outside of Europe.

Orders over 2 kilos will be sent by UPS and usually take 2-5 working days.

If you are in a rush for your fabric or supplies, please give us a call and we can see if it is possible to speed up the shipment of your order. 

Orders outside of the UK will ONLY be sent to the address of the cardholder.

Please note that orders outside of europe may be subject to your own country's customs and import charges which, are not within our control and are not part of the shipping cost. Please check this before ordering.

If you are unsure how much your parcel will weigh, the easiest thing to do is to add what you would like to order to your shopping basket and on the shopping basket page there is a section where you can put in your country and your postcode and it provides an exact quote.

All couriers request a telephone number in case they have difficulty locating your address. NO ONE will contact you for any other reason. We DO NOT pass ANY of your details to anyone else.
All deliveries will require a signature by an adult over 18 years of age.

Packaging

At the-millshop-online we want you to receive your purchase in the same great condition that it left us. We only use good quality new materials for packaging and take great care to ensure the goods are packaged well.

In the unlikely event that an item should arrive damaged please be sure to sign for it as ‘damaged’ or refuse the delivery specifying `damaged’ and email us immediately.  The signature must be by an adult over 18.

Receiving Your Fabrics

When you receive your fabric in ‘undamaged’ packaging, we suggest that you unwrap it immediately.  Please inspect your goods very carefully.  If you are using a third party or making yourself, please make sure that you are satisfied before the fabric is cut.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure that you receive the goods in the best condition, In the unlikely event that you receive faulty goods, please email us immediately (within 7 days of delivery) and we will replace free of charge.  Please note that no refund can be given once fabric has been cut, treated or altered in any way.

Returns

Our aim is to ensure that you are satisfied with your purchase from us.  Please email us within 7 days of delivery if you are not happy.  Sorry, but we are unable to give a refund if the items are ‘specially ordered for you direct from the mill’, as defined by the distance-selling act.  Please ask for a fabric sample before you place an order to satisfy yourself that it is the correct fabric, colour, tone, weave and finish.  If you do not order a fabric sample prior to the purchase, we cannot be held responsible for any variance in the fabric. Please be aware that colour representation of the fabrics on screen can be affected by many variables and may show up differently on your computer then it does on ours.

How To Return Goods

If you wish to return goods; Firstly, email us for a returns reference, stating your name and original order number.  Please ensure that it is of a saleable condition, unused and wrapped, where possible, as originally sent. If returning goods under ‘the distance selling reg 2000’ (cooling off period) the cost of returning the parcel is your responsibility.  Please retain proof of postage.  Any refunds will be refunded into the account that payment was made from.

Your statutory rights are not affected.  Of course, we try to achieve much higher than the EC reg 2002/ Distance Selling reg 2000/ Data Protection Act 1988 & sale of goods legislation 1979 amended.  We really want you to be happy with your purchase and would like you to become a long-term customer.

Privacy

Your details will only be used if the courier needs to contact you regarding delivery or to invite you to review our services on an independent review site.  Apart from this, your contact details will not be passed on to any other companies for any other reasons and you will not receive marketing emails from us unless you sign up to our newsletter.
