Contract Fabric

In the UK, when a fabric is in a public building, for example pubs, restaurants, hotels, bars, offices and healthcare environments, it needs to be fire retardant for public safety reasons. We are not familiar with the fire regulations for outside of the UK so please check your countrys' regulations if you are using contract fabric outside of the UK. Contract fabrics are fabrics that pass particular fire retardancy tests to conform with certain guidelines for public safety. It is important to use contract fabrics in public environments, for most importantly public safety reasons and also insurance reasons. The fire retardancy tests that they need to pass will depend on the public building they are going in and what they are being used for, i.e. curtains or upholstery. Contract fabrics can be inherently fire retardant or can be treated to be fire retardant. We sell an extensive range of contract curtain fabrics and contract upholstery fabrics. On each individual contract fabric you will find a description of what public buildings it can be used in and whether it is suitable for curtains or upholstery. We also state what fire retardancy tests it passes and whether it has been treated to be fire retardant or is an inherently fire retardant fabric. The majority of our contract fabrics are suitable for a variety of public buildings including offices, pubs, restaurants, hotels and healthcare environments. Our contract fabrics are printed and woven to order. Our printed contract fabrics have a minimum order quantity of 5 metres. If you are unsure what tests you will need your contract fabric to pass in order for it to conform with regulations then we recommend checking with your local authorities. Our contract fabrics do not necessarily need to be used in public buildings and we have had many customers use them for curtains and upholstery projects in their own homes as they like the fabrics.
