Julie Fernandez is an actress, presenter and documentary maker who has worked in the media industry for 25 years. At 18 she was offered her first professional full-time role as Nessa in BBC’s Eldorado and went on the be part of the cast for award-winning BBC comedy, The Office with Ricky Gervais.
Over the last 25 years, Julie has made award winning documentaries for BBC Radio 4, presented numerous television shows, and worked in the field of disability equality. Julie has her own training package to help different businesses to feel comfortable and confident in dealing with disabled employees and customers and will be training theatre directors at The Young Vic Theatre company in London. She has also been invited to attend the UN in New York to support and get involved with their disability team.
Nearly 7 years ago Julie opened a craft shop and teaching centre offering a wide range of classes from patchwork to hand embroidery an crochet to appliqué, she herself, taught regular crochet and hand embroidery classes. Julie sold Bee Crafty early 2017 so that she could concentrate fully on her media career.
Over the last 4 years Julie has been a regular craft demonstrator on Create & Craft and has now joined the team at Hochanda. She is particularly excited to be working with her two main passions in life; working in the media and crafting.
