What Curtain Lining To Choose

Curtain lining fabric is important for your curtains and blinds.  It creates a tidy finish, protects them from the sun and can add insulation.

There are different types of curtain lining fabric.  We stock polycotton twill curtain lining, 100% cotton sateen curtain lining and blackout and thermal lining.

Our polycotton twill curtain lining fabric is our budget lining that is a simple solution for lining curtains and blinds.  This curtain lining is made of 70% polyester and 30% cotton.

Our 100% cotton sateen curtain lining fabric is our best quality curtain lining, the one we normally recommend and is 96 pick with superior “silk” finish.  This curtain lining comes in an option of four colours; stone, white, cream or ivory.  We also sell a fire retardant version of this fabric which is perfect for contract curtains.

Our blackout and thermal curtain lining comes in an option of white or cream. It’s composition is 70% polyester and 30% cotton and it has blackout and thermal qualities which are ideal for bedroom curtains.  We also sell our blackout curtain lining in a fire retardant version which would be ideal for contract use curtains in bedrooms of hotels, B & B’s and guest houses.

We also sell a roman blind solar pro lining which has had the back of the fabric tufted to raise the yarns almost like a lightweight bonded lining.  Its intention is to be used for roman blinds where a cotton sateen lining and a bonded interlining are too stiff and don’t allow the blind to fold nicely, but the almost fleecing of the fabric gives it more body.

You can buy all our curtain lining fabrics from our online fabric shop or from our fabric warehouse in Northamptonshire.
